Mental Mission: Do you plan your meals?

March 9th, 2009 · 1 Comment · Uncategorized

Examine your meal planning this week for your mental mission…or if you just fly by the seat of your pants, ask yourself if you’d benefit from some pre-planning.

  • Do you meal plan?
  • How far in advance?
  • What system do you use, if any?
  • Have you changed the way you do this over the years?
  • ***Is it working for you?

This week’s Food for Thought will share one of my recent meal plans and some web resources.

Also, I want you to start preparing for some more distant future missions:

  • Start saving some glass jars.  Spaghetti sauce jars are perfect, mayo/Miracle Whip (store brand) even better.
  • Watch for whole chickens on sale.  In a few weeks, we’re going to tackle making a chicken stock.  If you have room in your freezer, buy one and toss it in until the end of the month.

And if you’re interested, our local hero in nourishing food, Kelly the Kitchen Kop, has a fun giveaway of a great book by Nina Planck here.
