My receipt this week was about $55, showing a savings of $150!

I bought 6 pork loin half roasts (at $1.39 a pound, which is incredibly low).

I bought several dozen eggs at .99 a dozen and used 2 coupons off a free dozen eggs that were available earlier this week.

I bought orange juice, milk, a package of spinach, and some margarine.

No, it's not organic, but it's not all processed foods, either, and it works for my family.

I know...I don't even know what to do with half my coupons anymore, and the bargain-ista side of me is mourning the loss!

Excellent post. I'm working on that transition from bargain shopper to healthy, raw food shopper. It's a tricky one!

Wonderful post! Thank you for linking up and telling me about it. I've recently been working on the meal planning before shopping. It definitely is more difficult, but I've been excited to find cheaper ways to shop since I have my meals planned out. Simple concept, but one that I have never applied.

Great blog, glad I found it! :)

thoughtful post! i discoveredthis surprising fact about my "sale" shopping: i, too, buy too much and it is actually less total money spent when we have peapod.com DELIVER the groceries that i shop for online. shopping takes 10 minutes, leaving time for other activities w/ kids, not exhausted from shopping AND cheaper? we don't do it every time but it works out if we stock up on meat from the store then get peapod for theother wks. this is a lifesaver since my hubby is away 12-14 hrs a day; esp. when i'm sick or after a snowstorm, i'd go crazy w/o it

Thanks for this great post! I'm always trying to make my food budget go as far as possible.

We recently switched to raw milk from a grass only fed cow. We go to the farm and buy our milk...that was from the morning milking. You can't get much fresher that that! The weird thing is that it's actually less expensive than the "organic milk" we had been buying!

Great post! Thank you so much for sharing. I have a budget but haven't really prayed about it. Thank you for waking me up to being more spiritual in our budgeting. :D
