When you reach retirement age, all those years you spent working 24-7 receive exactly zero credit toward Social Security. We need to recognize, as a society, that a parent who stays home and raises tomorrow’s citizens performs work that is every bit as important to the country’s economy and well-being as the wage slaves who plod into a job every day.
