Mary Reed Newland explains the symbolism of the Advent Wreath for you to meditate on today:
- Circle of wreath = eternity and never-endingness of God
- Evergreen = eternal life and never-changingness of God
- Purple = penance
- White candles = divine innocence
- Rose candle = joy
Your thought to ponder: what are the similarities and differences between the purple and penance of Lent and that of Advent?
