Online life is a lot like real life. You have your good friends who take care of you and to whom you are loyal, your acquaintances with whom you get along well, and your co-workers with whom you have a professional, helpful relationship. The very first friend I made online was Sarah from Sarah’s Musings. We connected so quickly, and she’s always been really supportive and a super faithful commenter.

My 4-year-old son was the photographer – not bad, eh? We’re looking a little shiny here, doggone flash. The photo with no flash was more flattering to us, but we just weren’t still enough to be clear.
When she emailed me that her sister had moved to Michigan, I thought it was a neat coincidence that she now lived in my general metro area. What are the odds that she actually lives less than a mile from my house???!!!
I had the great delight of meeting Sarah and her little guy when she came to visit her sister who just had a beautiful new baby. We had no end of things to talk about, from food to babies to books to conversion stories. It’s such a joy to connect with someone in real life that I already felt like I knew, only to find out that she is the kindred spirit I thought she’d be!
It’s quite a funny thing to meet someone who you know little pieces of from their blog. I wondered what she would see in my house that she would recognize, and I found out when she giggled as I loaded the dishwasher after lunch. “I’ve just seen so many pictures of your dishwasher!” she laughed. Yes, it’s fun to finally be in the real world with such a good friend.
And even better, I met her sister and am looking forward to being a good neighbor and resource as she navigates first-time motherhood.
Thank you, Lord, for being in charge of coincidences!
Sarah’s recipes, by the way, have never failed me yet. I would recommend anything at her site as she is such a fabulous chef and baker and wouldn’t post anything that didn’t work!

How fun! I can’t believe that I’m so lucky to have Sarah AND Laura in my fair state and I haven’t been able to connect with either one. Perhaps that’ll be a 2010 resolution. :>)

Sarah,
Katie
I know! Bunches of topics that we missed came up in my head later, too! We’ll just have to do it again!
