Mental Mission: Yogurt, Back Again!

January 5th, 2010 · 5 Comments · Uncategorized

happy yogurt It was last April when I challenged you to take a step forward along the yogurt continuum and increase your lovely probiotics.  This Monday, it’s time again!  I’ve been itching to (1) ask you to take the next step and (2) tell you some of the changes I’ve made in the way I make yogurt and some new tips for your success.

If you’re ready to take the plunge into homemade yogurt, which is about as easy as taking the plunge into your very own safe bathtub, save some glass jars this week for that purpose.  Otherwise, watch for yogurt on sale.  You can see the yogurt Choose Your Own Adventure Mission here if you want a sneak preview of what’s coming this Monday!

I’ll give you my tips for getting young children to eat plain, unsweetened yogurt and include some yogurt and yogurt cheese recipes.  Delicious week!

I can’t wait!

I’m glad you’re posting this! I have been giving serious consideration to making my own yogurt. I read your posts about it recently. I was unclear about the milk, though – should it be regular, store bought milk or organic for making yogurt? Maybe you could cover that part again when you post?

    Thanks,
    Pam

I need some tips to get MYSELF to eat plain unsweetened yogurt! :) However, we did try to make homemade yogurt.. well my husband did. He’s about 50/50 for success. One failed batch, one success batch, and one batch that had only 1/4 jars turn out…not sure why that happened. Guess thats not exactly 50/50!
    Looking forward to upcoming posts!

I knew you and I were friends for a reason. The “Choose your own adventure” reference – picture me bumping fists right there my literate sister.

I already make my own yogurt, but just wanted to let you know that made me smile! :)

    Best,
    Sarah
