I’m totally jealous of you guys. (Gals? I’ll find out who I’m talking to this week, hopefully!)
I kind of want to win this giveaway, but I don’t think that’s going to work out.
I was impressed by how many of you said you liked supporting at-home-mom run businesses, and I absolutely agree with you. When I saw these PlanetBox stainless steel lunchboxes on another blog, I fell in love right away. They seem to be one of the most convenient ways to reduce your waste when packing lunches and avoid plastic completely at the same time. Because they’re a small family-run business, they can’t be giving away products left and right, so when I approached them, I had to choose: left or right? You or me?
I could have just grabbed one for the household and written a nice review for you all, but that would be selfish – we’re not even packing lunches anymore (hubby works at home) and yet (no kids in school). So you get the goods – I love my readers!
This felt like the perfect giveaway to close out Decreasing Disposables in December after we’ve all examined our capability to reduce, reuse, and get creative to be gentle to the earth.
One winner will receive a PlanetBox Basic Set (a $35 value!), and you can choose which set of magnets you would like to fancy up your box. They are SO COOL.

Almost out of those, so hope to find a reusable bag I like. Use reusable container for hubby’s 2 sandwiches, a Tupperware glass for milk and he takes real utensils for leftovers which are usually stored in glass containers.

Luckily all the hospitals I have worked at have been big on giving employees reusable lunch totes (with their logos of course!). So we have several of those to carry lunches and use reusable containers and utensils from home. We even pack a little camping set of spices!!
I also just took your survey — I’m looking forward to what’s coming on your blog this year!
.-= Sarah´s last blog ..If for some reason you are incredibly bored…………. =-.
I carry my lunch to work almost every day. I have a couple of sizes of themoses, and a zillion little ziploc containers. I’d sure like to ditch the plastic, but glass is too heavy. This looks perfect, even if I am WAY past elementary school, lol.
I like the Under the Sea magnets.
I subscribe in Google Reader.

1. We use Tupperware containers for the individual foods right now, and reusable cups. The containers get all jumbled around in the big cooler, though, so the compartmentalized box looks much nicer!

i reduce lunch waste by packing in reusable containers & not using disposable silverware. I compost whenever it’s available & i’m getting closer to emailing someone at work to see why there’s not a compost bin in the cafeteria closest to my office. they’re in the one that furthest away.
i’ll tweet & i already follow you. i do that instead of subscribing. i don’t miss a post & my inbox doesn’t get clogged.

I like the Modern Art magnets–retro food!
I took the reader survey.
I would like to see a recipe for whole grain sandwich bread.
Thanks!
I love your site! I’m very practical and I get this! I have 2 school age children and both my husband and I work outside the house so reducing lunch waste is huge. We each have our own lunch box/cooler and thermoses. I pack in reusable plastic or glass containers and send reusable spoons/forks so that everything gets washed at the end of the day. We use cloth napkins too.
I took your survey.
Thanks!
I reduce lunch waste by using a reusable lunch box, sandwich boxes and Tupperware containers for trail mix, etc. When I do use a baggie, I try to reuse it. I do want to get some of the reusable snack sacks I’ve seen on etsy. Also, we don’t buy many individually-packaged snack items aside from the occasional box of granola bars.
I took the survey

10. took the survey
When we succumb to the temptation of take-out Chinese food I save the brown bag and re-use it for my husband’s lunch bag until it is extremely tattered. I work at home so rarely transport meals for myself. I occasionally use a stainless steel bottle for beverages while out and about.
I like the “under the sea” magnets.
I subscribe in Google Reader and greatly appreciate your blog.
I’m interested in recipes for preparing and using fermented foods.
