If you’re looking for an easy way to complete your Monday Mission of greening up one cleaner, here’s a chance to win some natural laundry detergent and all-purpose cleaner – double your mission!

IMG_8735

Start by reading my Charlie’s Soap review for the low-down on why you want to try this product.  One winner will receive the prize package pictured above:  an 80-load bag of Charlie’s Soap Laundry Powder (that’ll last you a while!), a bottle of the All-Purpose Cleaner, and a bonus reusable bag for groceries or laundry. (Value: $25.95)

HOW TO ENTER: Leave a comment telling me your green cleaners resolution, whether it has to do with Charlie’s Soap or not. (If you receive KS via email, you will need to click over to the site to leave a comment.) If you’d like more chances, obtain extra entries by doing the following.

GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED.  THANKS FOR ENTERING!

NEW SYSTEM: I’m sad to announce that I’m going to have to go with what most other bloggers do instead of saving you time like I usually do:  please leave all your entries in separate comments so it’s easier for me to count.  I’ve grown “big” enough that it’s taking too long for me to sort through the comments by hand (thus the awful delay on the Planetbox winner!).

  1. Mandatory entry: your green cleaners resolution.
  2. Check out the Charlie’s Soap website and tell me one thing you learned. (Like, maybe I should have read the FAQs myself.)
  3. Subscribe in a reader or via email to Kitchen Stewardship (or tell me if you already do).
  4. If you have a blog or website, post about this giveaway linking back to this post.
  5. What’s your favorite Monday Mission or Recipe?  Just tell me in the comment and I’ll give you an extra entry.
  6. Follow me on Twitter AND Tweet about the giveaway (just click the button at the top of this post).
  7. Stumble or Digg this post (you can use the “Share This!” icon at the bottom of the post).  (What is Stumble?)
  8. Email 5 friends (who don’t already read Kitchen Stewardship) about the giveaway.
  9. Stumble or Digg your favorite post or recipe at Kitchen Stewardship.
  10. Just for fun:  What’s your favorite blog other than Kitchen Stewardship and what is its topic?

Be sure to tell me everything you did in your comment.  There are a possible 10 entries!  If you can handle completing all 10, I’ll give you a bonus entry just for being perseverant (but tell me if you do in your comment so I’m not up counting all night). If you don’t have a blog, I’ll still give you the bonus if you complete the other 9.  I still trust the honor system.  Just be honest about what you’ve done – giveaways should be fun!

My apologies, but winners must be from the continental U.S.

I will use random.org’s integer generator to choose the commenters who win from my list of commenter emails.  The giveaway is only open to U.S. residents.  Entries will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. EST on Thursday, January 28th, and I’ll post the winners by the following Monday.

Disclosure:  Charlie’s Soap provided samples for review, but didn’t compensate me in any way, nor was I obligated to write a positive review.  (See this one if you don’t believe me.)  Amazon will pay a small percentage if you purchase through my site using a link.  I’d use Swagbucks if I were you!  See my full advertising disclosure here.

After my stockpile of cleaners is depleted, I’m switching to baking soda, vinegar, borax, and lemon juice only! I will probably keep a couple all-natural cleaners on hand while i make the transition, but I’d rather not use them if I don’t’ have to.

I followed a link to your blog from Organizing Your Way and I love it so far!! ^_^

    I subscribe via email :)

My favorite Monday Mission is “Conserve Energy with your Oven/Stove”. It has a bunch of great tips! I can’t wait to put them to use, I’m planning on consolidating all my baking on one day (and in the morning since its so cold right now!)

  • Sheila

Hmm, I’ll have to try to source this in Canada.
I use vinegar, lemons and salt, and baking soda.
Then we moved to a different house and I’ve added back in the Vim Cleanser, that works, but I hate the smell. I’d love to give Charlie’s a go.

Chemically sensitive, have been always, and have been using natural cleansers, right down to making my own soap when necessary, since the early eighties. Yeah, I’m old.

You go girls. Train up the younger women in the ways that many of my generation and older have abandoned (to their shame!!)

    :P

  • Kate

Okay, first…things that don’t get clean with my “green” cleaners (baking soda, vinegar, soap nuts, Dr. Bronner’s and water) don’t get cleaned. That so has to stop. I need to find solutions for getting stains out of clothes, the carpet, and the remaining mildew out of my shower (baking soda did a great job on most) right now. Charlie’s APC sounds great!!

    I subscribe to you already!

Oooh ooh! My resolution is to switch to all natural cleaning products, and this would really help! My second, probably prior resolution to achieving my first, is to actually clean my house enough to use up the old cleaning products.

  • Kate

My favorite recipe of yours is tied between granola bars (which I can no longer eat, anyway) and the Italian salad dressing (which I do eat!).

  • Heather

My green cleaner resolution is to get rid of the final 2 toxic products I use: Soft Scrub for my sinks and Kaboom for my tub. However, I have yet to find a viable non-toxic green options that work as well :( .

  • Kate

Following you on Twitter and tweeted the giveaway!

  • Heather

I have always wanted to try Charlie’s Soap but I did not now I could use it in my HE washer – the website says it is HE compatible! My question is: do I use one tablespoon of the powder where I would normally put the liquid detergent?

  • Heather

    I subscribe by email!

  • Kate

    I “Digged” this post!

  • Kate

I looked at Charlie’s Soap website and learned that if you pre-treat with their product, then wash according to instructions, it removes almost all stains! I would so love that!

  • Heather

I posted this but I did not see it come up under comments so I will try again:

My fav blog besides KS and my own :) is http://www.heavenlyhomemakers.com. It is full of great, healthy recipes and homemaking ideas. I love Laura’s e-books. I have all of them and use them weekly!

I wrote about this post in my blog. It’ll post tonight at 8 PM as an intro to my post on health benefits of herbal teas.

My favorite blog other than this is torn between Keeper of the Home and Raising Arrows. As you’re familiar with both I don’t think I need to tell you the topics. :) I’ve been reading Keeper of the Home for months, and only just discovered Raising Arrows this week, but can’t wait to learn more about raising a large family (especially a Christ-centered, home schooling family!).

  • Heatherj

I am reducing the amount of chemicals in my home this year by washing most things with a mild dish liquid (stop laughing. It’s a start! LOL).

    I subscribe to your site!

My mission is to begin using the “triple threat” cleaners for my kitchen & bath. I would love to try Charlie’s for the laundry!

  • Heatherj

I learned that I only need ONE TABLESPOON of laundry detergent per load if I’m using Charlie’s…. WOW. I put more butter on my toast than I would soap in my laundry. Can that be?!??

  • Heatherj

my favorite are your organizing tuesday tips and chores!

  • Christa

I checked out Charlie’s website and learned that using Tide actually added weight to the laundry by way of residue – yuck!

A really cool website I love is:

Love using the vinegar solution to clean my countertops. Have yet to try it on my showers, but it’s coming!

  • Teresa

I have been making my own laundry detergent since June and have relied on vinegar, baking soda and Dr. Bronner’s for general cleaning. I have a Costco bucket to get through before making dishwashing soap. With just two of us now it could take forever.

  • Annie

My green cleaners resolution- to try using vinegar!

  • Erika

Charlie’s website: approved for use in meat-processing plants–strong and safe stuff!!

  • Julie

My green resolution is green hand and body soap for the family. It doesn’t really clean the house, but it does clean the kiddos in the house.

  • Annie

FAQ- you only need 1 tbsp of soap per load.

  • Annie

    I’m already an email subscriber.

still working on the handsoap mission–but i’m cheap, and my mom recently bought another refill for me, so i’m waiting to use it up–pitiful, huh! oh, and i loved the healthy fats missions!

  • Erika

and probably another favorite blog is MoneySavingMom–for a little bit of everything frugal!

My resolution was to switch to a green laundry soap. My biggest problem with this is finding something that will clean on the gunk out of my husband’s work clothes. It sounds like the Charlie’s might work.
