Ann Marie, could you please give us the web address for grazin' acres. I looked that term up and only got a grazin angus acres. Also , thanks for the exhortation to focus on nutrient-dense foods. My neighbor just brought us some fresh milk , so I sat my little self down and had me an eggnog. Yum!

Oh and one more thing -- just because it is labeled grass-fed doesn't mean it is *really* grass-fed. Like I know the pastured butter and cheese from Organic Valley -- that is from a co-op of farmers around the country and they don't all put their cows on pasture all year long. I thinks someone told me that grass-fed can mean all kinds of things.

This is another reason I'm going to start buying from Grazin' Acres.

I have found Kerrygold cheese at Costco. I have also found a few different kinds of grass-fed cheese at Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. The Trader Joe's cheese is labeled "grass-fed". Whole Foods is great because they label the raw milk cheeses. Raw milk cheeses typically are grass-fed, but I'm not sure if they always are (I would think so though). Many imported cheeses, raw or not, are grass-fed, but you really need to contact the dairy and ask if they are grass-fed.

Also if you become a meber of the WAPF you get a shopping guide with a list of grass-fed cheeses.

I'm going to start buying raw grass-fed cheese from Grazin' Acres which is a farm in Amish country -- they will ship. I really liked their cheese a lot when I tasted it at the last conference. And I like the fact that I know they are completely grass-fed.

I often buy cheese in bulk and freeze it. It does change the texture a little, but for me, getting good quality cheese in bulk is more important. Also these cheeses are great for melting for quesadillas, pizzas, grilled cheese sandwiches, etc.

It's a little easier when the answers don't need scrolling, but thanks for the input! :) Katie

Kate have you tried raw goat milk? Many people who are allergic even to raw cow milk can drink raw goat milk. If you have only tried pasteurized milk then even raw cows milk may be OK. There is more info on realmilk.com
This is one reason we raise dairy goats now instead of cows.
