Kitchen Stewardship | A Baby Steps Approach to Balanced Nutrition

Reader Reminders and Blogoversary Giveaway Winners

March 1st, 2010 · 14 Comments · Uncategorized

It was a fun week!  Thanks for celebrating my blogoversary with me in style.  :)

Correct answers for Random Eco-Friendly Giveaway:

  • The Kimball family drinks raw milk.
  • I’m going to patent the phrase: “You know how I feel about dishes!”  I laughed out loud at most of the answers for this one and couldn’t figure out if I had been unclear in the asking.  “Bath and Body Works” was allowed to stay because it shows you read my stuff, and for a long time!
  • I think everyone should…make their own yogurt.  (Although points accepted for bone broth and beans, my two other favorite topics.)
  • On the ‘pits: homemade deodorant, of course!
  • Thanks for the prayers!  I was/am sifting through decisions on blog advertising (see below) last week and…drum roll, please!  I got a bite on Kitchen Stewardship, the book!  Need help trying to figure out what to do with that information (once I scrape my chin skin off the floor) and how to focus and organize a book.  Thank you, Jesus!

Random notes:

  • I want to win these Disney on Ice tickets for next weekend! What a fun treat to share with my kiddos!
  • Still time to buy some NaturOli soap nuts Extreme 18x Liquid Concentrate at 50% off – but the sale ends today!
  • The Swagbucks code for 60 bucks ends March 4: KATIESCODE1.  More Swagbucks = more free money!
  • I told you last week when I shared my big list of changes that I wasn’t sure what would be the next item on the list.  I forgot about the chicken feet already in my freezer!  The stock is perking along on the stove now.  I was just glad that they didn’t seem to have the skin still on them.  Thanks, Jenny, for the chicken feet stock tutorial!
  • Want to meet my mom? She left this awesome comment at my list post, detailing all the crazy stuff this Kitchen Stewardship journey has inspired her to change, too.  Way to go, Mom!
  • Advertising is a necessary part of keeping this blog free for you and possible for me. I’m working on private ads so that I can be completely in charge of the content, and I may join the Real Food Media group, but for now, the Foodbuzz ads at least help me rationalize all the time I spend working on the computer.  However, they have been displaying some very non-Kitchen-Stewardship companies lately, like Duncan Hines brownie mixes (my husband would disagree) and Silk Soymilk.  I’ve asked to have the ads removed, but I just wanted to be clear with my readers: I don’t always support companies that pop up in the Foodbuzz ad space, and although I try to keep on top of ads I disagree with, I won’t always catch them quickly.  I hope you understand!
And the Winners Are…
