Winners Galore! Is it You?

April 8th, 2011 · 4 Comments · Uncategorized

Here’s a thought from sunny Florida, where my very fair-skinned children and husband look like they’re afraid of the sun.

It’s kind of funny to me that we all truck out with our sun protective shirts and hats from last summer’s sun protection reviews, because if anyone is almost to the point of embracing the sunshine, it’s me. I know Vitamin D is so important, but since we have no base tans, very fair skin, and will definitely be out between 10-3:00, it’s not worth risking a burn. I’m happy to don a shirt instead of taking extra time and product to use sunscreen on husband and son’s chests/backs in particular, since once the sunblock is on, the Vitamin D really isn’t getting through anyhow.

A fun added bonus? This shirt for me fits over my 5-month pregnant belly, enabling me to wear a 2-piece suit that I wouldn’t be able to otherwise! At 8 months along, I’ll need some other options, but this one was comfy today:

Right, right….I promised some winners from this week’s two giveaways. I just wanted to gab about the sun for a second. I miss social media on vacation! ;)

MadeOn DIY Kit Winners

Two lucky ladies are going to have a blast making their own lotions, lip balms, and maybe ever diaper cream sometime soon from MadeOn with their DIY lotion kits from this giveaway:

  • Jan (haus02sc@…)
  • Barbara Nickerson

Congrats! Email me with your mailing address, please, ladies.

If you’d still like to try your hand at making your own, find the kits here (use FREEZINC) code to add zinc oxide for diaper rash cream to your kit. Fun stuff! (If you’re more like me and would rather just let the fabulous Renee Harris make your lotion bars and lip balm, order here.)

Sourdough A to Z eBook Winners

I’m so excited, always, to share good nutrition with you all, and you know I think sourdough is the best way to prepare grains (if you do grains!). I kind of can’t wait to get back to it, although on the other hand, skipping the grains can be less work (and definitely less baking). ;) This eBook is the creme de la creme, with tons of recipes, FAQs from eCourse members and notes from folks who have been there. I love that I got to give away three copies to:

  • Kelly Seow
  • Celeste Parkhurst
  • Sarah Fox

I’ve got your emails, so the book should be on its way! For the rest of you, if you’re pining for those recipes, if you purchase HERE before April 11th, you get a free thank you video from the GNOWFGLINS eCourses. Videos include sourdough pie crust, Farmer’s cheese (with my kids!), and this month’s for no-sew, plastic-free, water-resistant cloth food storage bags. Awesome stuff, regularly $10 each!

Have a lovely weekend, and thanks as always for being a KS reader! I can’t wait to share the next installment of the Eat Well, Spend Less series with you next week, your frugal meals Monday Mission and my top 5 frugal nourishing foods!
