If this week’s Monday Mission of throwing out all your parabens is a huge step for you right now – like it would have been for me a few years ago – check out my easy reading article at Simple Organic today. (It’s actually well under 1000 words; I get teased a lot because of my lengthy articles!)
This one is a good cup-0f-coffee on a Saturday read for those of you wondering how to start if you’d like to "green up" your bathroom cupboards and drawers:
I’m guessing that for many people, setting small, manageable goals that baby step toward a bigger end game is often the way to go. January is the perfect time to set some goals for the month, and hopefully you’d like to make your life a bit more eco-friendly in 2012 than you managed in 2011.
If you glance in your medicine cabinet or under your sink and see popular brand names, chances are you still have some weeding out to do when it comes to nailing all-natural personal and cleaning products.
I recommend taking it one step at a time…read my 3 easy steps right HERE…
I keep forgetting to share with you my comprehensive lists of
Both are basically lists from head to toe and floor to ceiling of what I choose to use in my own home, updated rather regularly as I discover new options.
You might also be interested in a few ebooks from colleagues of mine:
- Clean Start from Open Eye Health (full of tried and true recipes for homemade natural cleaners)
- Food on Your Face for Acne and Oily Skin by Crunchy Betty (the title kind of says it all on this one…I’m bugging my mom to write a guest post because she’s been successfully implementing the book for a few months now!)
And on the natural health side of the story, be sure to get into the "review giveaway" for doTERRA essential oils, where TEN lucky KS readers will get to try an individually chosen bottle of essential oil and share their experience with the rest of us.
Frogs, Debt, and Eating an Elephant
Since I’m thinking about the Simple Living Media group of site headed up by empress Tsh at Simple Mom, I can’t help but remind you to watch the KS Facebook page every Monday morning as I share one week of her book One Bite at a Time – we’ll keep each other accountable to take 52 simple steps to making life flow easier.
So far we’ve Eaten Frogs and shared our frogs and Made a Debt-Free Plan. Want to join in? Follow on Facebook and buy the book for only $5. {If you’re not on FB, you can still read what I write and comments just by going to the page each Monday and clicking "wall" on the far left. Thanks!}

Disclosure: Bloggers often work together to promote one another’s book, so I’m definitely an affiliate of all 3 ebooks listed here, and friends with the authors – but I’d never recommend something that wasn’t quality. I turn down ebooks all the time… See my full disclosure statement here.

A few other people have started saying this just today…What browser are you using? I’m concerned, b/c I can see all these pages fine at my house….

Thanks for the heads up, Lisa…I’m trying to figure it out! It’s not happening to everyone or on every post…very odd. So sorry! Katie

Thanks to your motivation for last weeks Monday Mission, I went through our household products and purged all the ones with nasty ingredients. Then I went through all the rest of our body products and got rid of those bad items, too. I’ve wanted to do that for a while now and just haven’t. Thanks for motivating me to get off my bootie and do that!

Thanks for the comprehensive lists. Dish soap (for handwashing) is an area I have yet to make the switch. Just can’t seem to find a natural product that cuts it. I’m going to try out Mrs. Meyer’s as soon as my current bottle of Dawn runs out
