I’ve been running off at the mouth (fingers?) a bit this week about juice, and I wanted to distill some of the information down in a bite-sized portion.
I wish I could create a “good/better/best” list for juice.
I made a nice list for you – but unfortunately it’s “best/okay/bad…and worse from there.”
Juice just isn’t good for you, but there are better options and truly evil ones that you want to be aware of if you’re presented with juice or it’s been a part of your family’s habits, and you’re not ready to change yet.
Here’s a small printable that you can post on your fridge, tuck into your purse, and then share the other three with friends (remember Monday’s Mission to share the knowledge?):
If you’re new to all this and would like a more comprehensive list of “what’s healthy to eat,” I have another printable called What to Eat, What to Avoid, How to Compromise that might come in handy.
You also might enjoy a little help packing a healthy lunch – that post has tons of ideas, plus time saving tips (my lazy specialty).
Stick around tomorrow for more on school food and a review of Fed Up With Lunch! (Plus a Valentine’s Day weekend sale on Smart Sweets you won’t want to miss!)

Morgan,
Fie on me for taking so long to respond! So sorry…I got absolutely behind on comments when I released the second edition of the snacks book and truly have never caught up.
I love apple cider, personally.
I do think that it’s a “real” juice, especially if you can get it from the farmer, unpasteurized in all its glory. I’ve never done research on it because it’s a fall treat for us, so I don’t really care.
But I’m pretty sure that it has more going for it than pasteurized apple juice…
