We’ve now been a fermented cod liver oil family for a year and a half, and it’s definitely part of our routine. My kids’ “morning chores” charts both include “take cod liver oil,” so they actually remind me if I forget so that they can earn their chore chart incentive.

I’ve even cut their “pay” further, only offering one chocolate chip for FCLO and one for their herbal blend. Poor kids! They used to get as many chocolate chips as their age!

Both the 3yo and 6yo are in a “mint” rut right now, which is fine with me – taking the same thing just keeps it simple. I took the mint with them for quite a while, but I finally got a new order in and have my beloved cinnamon tingle back, in the butter oil/FCLO blend gel. It’s practically candy to me. Yum. Winking smile

Here’s where I’ve talked about fermented cod liver oil before:

If you’ve been to the Green Pasture website before, you’ll notice that they have a new product called “emulsified fermented cod liver oil.” We got a few bottles, and so far, the ginger flavor didn’t impress the kids. They went back to mint, straight up.

As far as I can tell, the “emulsified” doesn’t mean any nutritional difference added in, but it’s supposed to be easier to take, flavor-wise. It does seem that there’s less actual cod liver oil, so like the capsules, you’re paying for your convenience. If you can take the straight up fermented cod liver oil or the butter oil blend, I’d recommend going that way.

And if you’re just not ready? You can use your gift certificate on Green Pasture’s excellent coconut oil or ghee/coconut oil blend, great for high temp sauteeing.

Want Some?

As we finish out cold and flu season, Vitamin D can help boost your immune system. It’s been said that all Americans need more of it, and FCLO is one of the top sources outside sunshine itself. image

FIVE winners will get a $44 coupon to Green Pasture, plus something from their new skin care line. Apparently it can go on the skin…but I haven’t tried these products and have no idea if the smell comes out! It must…right? If you win, you have to email me and tell me, okay?

By the way, this is the first of NINE giveaways this week! You can see them all here; be sure to follow along all week, since they’re only going to get more fun!
