If only I didn’t have such an awful brown thumb.
I think if an emergency situation arose, seed bank or not, my family would not have much of a garden.
But it’s such a good idea!
I have plenty of small preparedness strategies, mostly involving stockpiling some food and owning a Berkey filter.
This one may be the next addition:
The Safe Harvest Seed Bank™ contains the highest quality heirloom vegetable seeds available. The seeds are 100% Non-GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms), open-pollinated, and placed in specially sealed packets which provide for long-term storage.
The Safe Harvest Seed Bank™ is yours for one LOW price and supplies a LARGE balance of seeds from the most recent harvest.
It is also packaged for long term storage (5+ years) but priced so you can start planting this year! The affordability and great quality of this Seed Vault make it your best choice for both planting and storage!
- 100% Heirloom
- 100% NON-GMO
- 20 Seed Varieties
- 5+ years Shelf-Life
For the right person, this might even make a great Christmas gift.
The value is $42.99 or 3 for $99.99.
This week Jeff at LPC Survival is sponsoring THREE winners to get a seed bank of their own. He also offers food storage, even organic foods, and our favorite Berkey filter.
Some Other Winners
The winners of the Green Pasture (fermented cod liver oil) gift certificates are
- Sarah R-B
- Emily S

Months back I sent a question about using whipping cream to make yogurt after reading your making yogurt page. We have made yogurt using just whipping cream and it is terrific! Thanks for your guidance.

You said you thought you might be able to offer a discount for the cod liver oil. Just wondering if that is still a possibility.

Jenni,
Katie
I was never offered a coupon code, but I said in past years, Green Pasture has held a sale during the WAPF conference. It’s not on…but I’m hoping for next week!

Kimberlee,
Katie
I just checked them all, and they are working okay…so either you found a temporary glitch or someone else on the team fixed them already – thanks for the heads up!

Theresa,
Are you on a mobile device? I know RC doesn’t play nicely with mobile…
I haven’t heard of this from other folks – I used to run giveaways via a survey form, but hackers literally ran that company into the ground and they had to suddenly close.
Thanks for the note, although lowercase letters would be fine.
Katie

I find all vegetables are important so it’s difficult for me to pick one or two as most important. I was just telling a friend about the seed bank and that we need to each order one. I think I’ll wait to see if I win this one first

Potatoes have to be the best just because they are so versatile and filling.

My husband and I love veggies are dipping a toe in the gardening waters. We don’t have much space but our go tos so far are tomatoes, basils, chive, cilantro, cucumbers, peppers, beans, peas, and cilantro.
