Do you have a favorite recipe that your family loves that doesn’t exactly fit into the category “real food”? Do you wish you could make the transition to whole foods cooking…but without giving up your favorite boxed mixes quite so quickly? Or maybe you are a real food family who still reminisces sometimes about a former favorite “naughty” meal that you can’t eat anymore?
I’m here to help!
I’m starting to rub my hands together and cackle gleefully, plotting out another ebook to share with you all. The majority of respondents on my reader survey (thank you, all!) are interested in a book on recipe transformations – so you can switch to real food without having to throw out all your old, lovingly stained recipe cards.
I’ve got a good handful of recipes that I’ve remade for our family, like Dad’s Cheeseburger Hamburger Helper (above) and Kraft Food & Family’s Sausage Spinach Pasta Toss (below). They do still both use packaged pasta, so they’re not perfect, but I’ve got further upgrades for that, too.
I’d love to get my little paws on your family’s recipes.
If you’ve got a good one for me to transform into a real food wonder, here’s what you can do:
- In the comments at this post or in an email (email subscribers can simply hit “reply”), leave a link to your recipe or the full written out recipe if it’s not online.
- Tell me the best parts about the recipe – the stuff I should change.
- I’ll fiddle with it and send it back to you to test out the new version.
- You try it with your family and let me know how it goes!
- Any recipes that make it into the book will include attribution, or not, if you prefer. If you have a blog, I’ll link to your site.
You’re welcome to just do parts 1 and 2 if you don’t want to try the real food version, but if you are willing to help with all four parts, you’ll receive a free copy of the finished eBook.
Thanks for your help!
Time to Figure out Natural Remedies
Speaking of eBooks, my friend Michele over at Frugal Granola has come out with one that gets me pretty excited. I’ve just been getting very curious and interested in essential oils, and after a couple times in the last few months where our family has been prescribed antibiotics (and we didn’t need them!), I’m really ready to figure out natural remedies and have them on hand.
I keep getting caught off guard, so I’m making a shopping list using Michele’s new book, Herbal Nurturing: A Family Healing and Learning Guide eBook. She’s got answers for everything from tummy aches to headaches, building up immunities to battle colds and flu, women’s issues, and even a basic scrape care. I’m pumped! Check out her book HERE.
I’m working with one of this month’s sponsors, Provident Essentials, on a possible giveaway of Michele’s book with some of their essential oils, so keep an eye out! 🙂
