My “garage fridge”:
Birthday cake and cookie dough…
More cookie dough (filling), homemade applesauce, cranberries, and a few apples left from the orchard…
Seriously folks. I’ve been waiting for cold weather JUST for this reason, and this reason alone. I can finally cool my milk for homemade yogurt without running water in the sink or worrying about heating up my fridge, easily cool a huge bowl of homemade chicken stock without rearranging everything in my fridge, and quit consolidating things into smaller bowls and spending half my life reorganizing the fridge to make everything fit.
I look at these pictures and I ask myself two questions:
- How in the WORLD do I ever survive with one refrigerator in the summer?
- What will I do when/if more than four people live in my house? That’s a lot of food for four people including one toddler. (And yes, the regular plugged in fridge was FULL too.)
Welcome to my home! I hope you enjoyed the tour. I also have a plastic tub on the back deck as a “freezer” filled with crispy nuts that I’ve been dehydrating all week. Take advantage of nature when you can! (Wondering what’s in that big, blue bowl there? I’m working on a post to share with you soon, and I’m totally drooling on my keyboard! It’s my ultimate favorite Christmas cookie…)
