I put my heart and soul into finding the best natural mineral sunscreen over the last 10 years. My family of 6 has personally tested over 100 reef-safe sunscreen options, putting two on our bodies every time we are in the sun.

Where to purchase: Soleo Organics

Ease of application: + Soleo has a very unique whipped mousse-like texture that really makes it quite delightful to apply. Because it’s thick, the dabba dabba method is super easy, and it rubs in marvelously. It goes on basically clear, even better than Coppertone Baby. Husband thinks it’s one of the best we’ve ever tested, even with hairy man arms. Your fingers don’t even feel greasy after applying, which is unique.

Scent: mild, somewhat earthy, very pleasant

Water resistant? very

My experience: Soleo reformulated, and it’s a completely different product than it used to be when we first tested it. My husband says you don’t even need the dabba dabba technique, because it completely disappears. We even used the face formula everywhere! It’s quickly become one of our family’s favorites. From the scent to the texture to the non-greasy feel to it being more effective than some others we tested, Soleo is a big winner.

The face version is definitely even lighter and airier than the regular one, but they all feel like they have air whipped into them. It does take about seven or eight rubs to get it to disappear, but when it’s gone it’s great!

Star Feature: Packaging and container made from 100% recyclable material.

Pros

  • great texture
  • non-greasy
  • goes on clear

Cons

  • water resistance not guaranteed
