I’m totally jealous of you guys. (Gals? I’ll find out who I’m talking to this week, hopefully!)
I kind of want to win this giveaway, but I don’t think that’s going to work out.
I was impressed by how many of you said you liked supporting at-home-mom run businesses, and I absolutely agree with you. When I saw these PlanetBox stainless steel lunchboxes on another blog, I fell in love right away. They seem to be one of the most convenient ways to reduce your waste when packing lunches and avoid plastic completely at the same time. Because they’re a small family-run business, they can’t be giving away products left and right, so when I approached them, I had to choose: left or right? You or me?
I could have just grabbed one for the household and written a nice review for you all, but that would be selfish – we’re not even packing lunches anymore (hubby works at home) and yet (no kids in school). So you get the goods – I love my readers!
This felt like the perfect giveaway to close out Decreasing Disposables in December after we’ve all examined our capability to reduce, reuse, and get creative to be gentle to the earth.
One winner will receive a PlanetBox Basic Set (a $35 value!), and you can choose which set of magnets you would like to fancy up your box. They are SO COOL.

What a fun giveaway!
I reduce waste in my husband’s lunch by using a stainless steel water bottle, glass containers (he uses a microwave
), sending real utensils, and using a lunch bag made from recycled plastic.
I just completed your survey.
I like the green globe magnets best, and I clicked “buy now”.
I am interested in working more seafood into our diets this year, and would love to see some recipes/suggestions.
I found these a while back and love them, but couldn’t justify spending $35 for a lunchbox I couldn’t handle first.
1. I pack things in reusable plastic containers, pack both kids sandwiches in one bag and pack whole fruits so they don’t need a separate baggie.
2. I like the Sports Balls magnets because they’d be good for my kids or my husband. (like the new selections!)
3. I subscribe in my Google homepage.
4. I shared this on Facebook.
5. A kid-friendly dinner main-dish recipe would be great!
6. I stumbled this!

We reduce lunch waste by reusing Starbucks glass bottles to put our juices, filtered water and drinks in! What a cool lunch box!!!
We use lunchboxes but NOTHING as cool as this!
I LOVE the Modern Art magnets. So clever!
I do subscribe to your blug via Reader already.

I pack what I can in reusable containers. Bonus is my son hasn’t figured out he can empty a container of what he doesn’t eat like he can throw out a bag, so I see what he actually eats for lunch and I can adjust accordingly.
I really only pack lunches on roadtrips (which are frequent) to avoid buying lousy food on the road. I use reusable containers in a canvas bag and bring my travel mug along for the many cups of coffee I’ll need.
I’m a subscriber and just took the survey. I like the retro kitty magnets the best.
I always think these look so neat!
To reduce lunchtime waste, we use mason jars when we go out usually. They’re surprisingly durable, we haven’t broken one yet. I pack them with warm food and in an insulated soft lunch carrier, they fit perfectly.

Hi Katie – I reduce lunch waste by harrassing my husband and reminding him constantly to bring back that one plastic bag that he uses for lunch every day. I also pack him multiple days’ worth of snacks in plastic bags so he can leave some at work and I don’t have to use 5 per week.
I would like the rainbow magnets!
I subscribe in my google reader.
I took the survey.
Total of 8 entries! =) Megan

I was surveyed.
I like the sports ball magnets.
I would like to know more about making bread, koombacha and cod liver oil – very curious about these things but haven’t attempted them quite yet.

Hi Hi Hi!
1. We reduce right now by using plastic containers for sandwiches instead of ziploc bags and using reusable eco-friendly plastic bags for snacks. (my husband and I share, and we don’t have enough for that so it’d be great for us to win this!)

awesome lunchbox! Now where was that when I was looking last summer? Oh well, not to worry, we’ve got another one in need now. Thank you so much for sharing this great product with us!
1) we just switched to tupperwear instead of plastic baggies. Husband does the dishes and hates it. I love it though!
2) I was ready to not like the additional magnets, but wow, these rock! I love how they’re perfectly sized. I’d get the sports ones I think?

Hello I completed your survey.
Now the mandatory question I try to reduce lunch waste by keeping quick lunchtime items on hand. Like potato and salmon patties in the freezer just grab a couple and heat. I keep salad in the fridge so its easy just to stuff a container full if there is nothing else. Plus there is always frozen soups to thaw and put in a thermos.
I love the Retro Kitty magnets.
I am already subscribed to your email.
I would like to see more middle eastern and Mediterranean recipes I adore the flavors of those regions.Like hummus.

To reduce lunch waste we started using plastic reusable juice boxes. I also started cooking the desserts at home instead of buying them. I’d reuse the plastic bags a few times, too. Not rocket science, but every little bit helps!

I use tupperware products (used to sell them and got them at a great discount!) when I pack lunches for myself, husband, and son…one to reuse them over and over and two so that things don’t get squished in the lunches
