Need I say more?

Many of you have been waiting patiently for this week to come, and I feel so blessed to be able to share such a big prize with one lucky reader.

Let’s cut to the chase now, folks. Here’s what you could win:

image5 tray Excalibur Dehydrator, retail value of $179.90.
8 square feet of drying area!
You choose whether you want a black or white casing. (trays and door are black either way)

Isn’t that lovely?

I’m so pleased to partner with Cook Ware’s Plus for this special giveaway. The ladies in charge over there have been absolutely attentive to me and all my rookie questions, and I am constantly impressed by their customer service and drive to know their product well.

Here’s a little background on the Excalibur brand of dehydrators from Cook Ware’s Plus:

What makes the Excalibur the standard? It has the Parallexx Horizontal Airflow Drying System so heated air is distributed across each tray evenly. It’s unlike many models where the drying system is on the bottom. Bottom-up airflow is not nearly as even as the horizontal system of the Excalibur models. The results? Very even drying, less spoilage.

Want to know what I’ve been doing with it? Please check out my dehydrator experience post for my initial stories and photos of my escapades, and watch tomorrow for a typical Kitchen Stewardship side-by-side test of the Excalibur vs. another brand of dehydrator. Did you expect anything less? ;)

I’ll also be posting some “how-to” dehydrate posts and recipes over the next week as the giveaway goes on, like Kimarie’s excellent “How to Sprout Grains and Make Sprouted Flour in Big Batches” tutorial this week.

Want to Win?

First, I owe a big thank you to Sylvia and Mary at Cook Ware’s Plus, who have been very gracious sponsors of this incredible Excalibur dehydrator giveaway. As your first mandatory entry in the contest, I’ll ask you to visit their site and shop around. I did already, and here is what I noticed (this’ll give you somewhere to start for sure!):

  • Waterless Cookware. “What’s that?” you ask. From the website: image
Waterless cookware means cooking healthy by using little to no water, cooking at lower heat, and creating a steam seal to cook food in its own juices. This helps retain most of the vitamins and minerals and keeps flavors intact instead of boiling it all away.” They’re sold in large sets, which can get pricey, fast, or singletons. The 12-qt (3 gallons) is on sale for 50% off right now!
  • Blendtec blender. A blender than can not only make wicked good smoothies but also food process and knead bread? One product taking the place of many…now I know hubs would be okay with that!h
  • Stainless Steel Bakeware set. We talk a lot here about effective vs. toxic materials, and stainless steel is a very good option for your bakeware, other than glass or…
  • Stoneware.  I’ve often waxed poetic about my love of my baking stone, image especially for thin crackers and cookies without any brown on the bottom. Cook Ware’s Plus sells only round stones, but their stoneware loaf pan would solve the “what do I do?” question about my coated tinware.
  • This enameled cast iron skillet looks just like the one my mom got us forimage Christmas. It’s a great alternative to the cast iron for tomato-based dishes and quick sautéing.  It lives on my stovetop!
ENTER TO WIN!

Thank you, Cook Ware’s Plus, for helping out a KS reader! For your first, mandatory entry, please visit Cook Ware’s Plus, using any link in this post. Browse around and tell me what item would be tops on your Christmas (in July) wish list; also tell me the price of that item at CWP.

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED. WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED SHORTLY!

(If you receive KS via email, you will need to click over to the site to leave a comment.) If you’d like more chances, obtain extra entries by doing the following.  Please leave all your entries in separate comments so it’s easier for me to count.

  1. Mandatory: visit Cook Ware’s Plus and tell me your “wish,” along with its price that you found at the website.
  2. Subscribe in a reader or via email to Kitchen Stewardship.
  3. If you’ve BEEN a subscriber for at least a week, you can leave TWO comments for TWO entries. I love my readers! (P.S. Don’t despair, new readers! There will be a Nutrimill grain mill giveaway in the fall, and I’ll have one or two random posts for current subscribers to snag an extra entry in that contest.)
  4. Email 5 friends about this giveaway along with the link to it. (Email subscribers can forward their message.)
  5. Follow me on Twitter, AND Tweet about the giveaway:
Don’t enter the Excalibur dehydrator giveaway @kitchenstew so I can win it and preserve #realfood http://bit.ly/dBWrol.
  6. Stumble or Digg any post at Kitchen Stewardship (you can use the Share This icon at the bottom of the post).  (What is Stumble?)
  7. Enter my other giveaway, for a free eCourse teaching how to cook Nourishing Food on a Budget (through Sunday only).
  8. Buy one of my eBooks, or tell me if you have already. (shameless self-promotion, eh?)

Be sure to tell me everything you did in your comments, a separate comment for each.  There are a possible 8 entries!

NOTE: I don’t know if I totally understand Facebook giveaway regulations, but perhaps it’s not kosher for me to ask you to “like” KS on Facebook as a giveaway entry. Here’s what I’m doing instead that will be so much fun! At least once a day, through an avenue like Facebook, Twitter, or the box at the top of the page here at KS, I’ll offer FIVE extra entries to someone who can answer a trivia question correctly. So you might want to “like” me on Facebook anyway:)

I still trust the honor system, so just tell me what you did and it will count. No need to copy Twitter status URLs or anything like that. I will use random.org’s integer generator to choose the winner.  Entries will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. EST on Friday, June 25th, and I’ll post the winner the following Monday.

If you missed the last Monday Mission, click here.

Kitchen Stewardship is dedicated to balancing God’s gifts of time, health, earth and money.  If you feel called to such a mission, read more at Mission, Method, and Mary and Martha Moments.

Disclosure: Cook Ware’s Plus provided me with an Excalibur dehydrator to test out and keep in my own kitchen (basement, actually…you’ll hear more about that in a minute. They’re also sending a brand new 5-tray Excalibur to the lucky winner!
