Mental Mission: Boldness in the Kitchen and Aluminum

July 21st, 2009 · 1 Comment · Uncategorized

Two things to think about this week as we gear up for next week’s Super Foods.  We’ll look at a bunch of random honorable mentions that I grouped together because I don’t know what else to do with them: green tea, cranberry juice, pomegranates, artichokes.  For me, these mostly fall under the “how brave are you – willing to try something new?” category.  How about you?  How often do you go out on a limb and try a new ingredient/recipe/procedure in your kitchens?

I’m also gearing up for Analyzing Aluminum in August.  I want to call out to your inner detective, especially those of you who, like me, read Nancy Drew or Hardy Boys as a child.  Where do you encounter aluminum in your world? There are (probably) more places than you’d expect.  So, dear detectives, start sleuthing!  How many hiding spots for aluminum can YOU find?
