This week kicks off the latest seasonal theme-y series at Kitchen Stewardship: A Fat Full Fall. Here are some questions to get you thinking about what is to come:
- When someone says the word “fat” what images come to your mind?
- Do you eat “Fat Free” or “Low Fat” foods?
- Do you know the difference nutritionally between saturated, polyunsaturated, and monounsaturated fats?
- Do you read labels for fat?
- Do you count grams of fat in a day?
- When choosing a meal, do you take the amount of fat in the food into consideration?
- Is fat good for you or dangerous for your health?
- Are you afraid of fat?
We’ll cover all this and more during A Fat Full Fall here at KS. Join us!

I like the first one. I prefer seeing the “real” fats, rather than the processed ones. That’s just me.

Me too!

I like the first one the best. I think it has the most impact and I also agree with Barb about not seeing Crisco and lite foods next to the real fats.

I like the one with just the egg or the one with the egg and the butter:)

My vote goes for the first one!

My vote goes to the first pic. It has a good impact.
I don’t really think or even know too much about fats, will be interesting to learn.

I like #3. Bring on the Fat!

I like one or three, but I am partial to the font of #3! No Crisco pics, please!! It sends the wrong message, in my opinion. Can’t wait for this series!!

Ashley,
Katie
I’ll have to start noting “oldie but goodie” on my Facebook notes from the archives. This series IS an oldie but goodie for sure – here are all the posts: http://www.kitchenstewardship.com/2009/09/22/a-fat-full-full-introduction/

I love fat.
[Reply to this comment]
me too!! I’m still trying to convince hubby to not be afraid of it though.

I like the 2nd one, but only because it shows coconut oil. The 3rd one is probably best.

I like #3, it shows a full range of fats to be discussed and we all need to learn about “ALL” of them even the ones that really aren’t good!

I like #1!
I know you’ll talk about why we shouldn’t be afraid of full fat real foods, but there’s plenty in those other pictures we should be scared of, and I think it sends the wrong message. Pics 1 & 3 make me feel positive towards those types of fat, 2 & 4 make me feel very negative. Just my impression.

Kassia,
Sorry about this – it’s an old post just mentioned on Facebook – here’s the series, though, it was a good one! http://www.kitchenstewardship.com/2009/09/22/a-fat-full-full-introduction/
